Author 6 dB attenuator for test setup according to IEC 61000-4-6 standard

Hi,

Which would be the consequences of testing an EUT according to IEC 61000-4-6
standard, but without the 6 dB attenuator between the amplifier and the CDN?
As I know, this attenuator reduces the VSWR output of the amplifier to
1,2:1.

If I don't use it, could I damage the output stage of the amplifier? I need
to reach a certain output level to test, but with the attenuator I cannot.

Thanks all.

Juan

Since no one else has chimed in, here is my take. Yes, it is slightly
possible you could damage the amplifier. But, why not just contact the
manufacturer of the amplifier and see what they have to say, keeping in
mind they would be happy to sell you a new higher power amplifier
and/or avoid any warranty claims.
