Hi all,

I have an old PYE FM transmitter that I have used for a couple of occasions
now for RSL broadcasts. This was obviously made before the new RTTE-CE rules
came in. Several years ago I also purchased a RDS encoder and limiter as
modules and obviously this fits in line of the multiplex audio for the
transmitter. My concern is that this may make the transmitter fall foul of
RTTE-CE compliant rules or at least be a problem, since ots not original to
the transmitter?
We are due to have another RSL in the summer and obviously I would like to
know I'm totally compliant, I don't really know what I need to be compliant
to or what specifications I should meet. I have quite a few years of RF
experience in design and manufacture and have access to various test gear so
I do at least know that the RF is clean and the deviation is legal, but any
other advice would be great as this was before all these new requirements
came in. When I last spoke to the ofcom engineers they were saying how they
have now really come down on these new requirements and the last thing I
want is for them to tell me to turn the unit off.

Cheers,

Ed
