Dear Group

I have a question regarding the application of 60601-1-2 (EMC) for
products intended for sale in Japan.

Our product was EMC tested only when connected to a 230V mains supply,
however rated for both 120V and 230V by the testing body.

For release in Japan, do we need to run a complete EMC test with the
product connected to a 100V (50/60Hz supply).

In general do we always need to perform the EMC test with all the
practical supply voltages that exist in the countries for whih the
product is intended?

best regards
t.

Yes, but for Japan it has to be done in a VCCI accredited lab.

Thanks BillB,

Where can I find the regulations as to how to perform these tests,i.e.
that all practical voltage levels must be tested. Is it part of the
60601-1-2 standard, or is it specified somewhere else?

best regards
