It's predicted that a lot more hurricanes will be hitting the Florida coast
for the next 10 years. If this turns out true what will be the effect on
Florida real estate prices?

Where did you read this? From what I understand "high rise" condo's in
Florida are built using piles driven into the bedrock (the reef) below the
sand. The sides might rip open in some parts but the condo structure itself
will stay intact making the stairways and hallways most safe. It's the one's
under 5 stories or so that are built on the surface of the land that crack
in half and crumble.

I've lived in oceanfront condo's in South Florida for the past 30 years and
never seen any damage to mine or other condos. The last impending hurricane,
to convince my wife to stay put, I challenged her to find any photos or
articles of severely damaged "High Rise" condos past and present and we
couldn't find any. If anyone knows of any please forward the URL to me. I
don't mind admitting being wrong if it will save my tail.

The hurricanes will decimate old housing, re-fueling the need for new code
home building, pushing prices even higher for retiring baby boomers and now
permanent snow-birds in South FL.
